How to check your bra fits perfectly...

I have written a little guide to help you check how your bra fits. First, slip on your new Arabel bra and adjust it to the loosest fitting (as the elastic gives over time you can adjust it for continued support). Then lean forward and scoop your breast tissue into the cups and adjust the straps accordingly. Now, check the following parts of the bra to ensure a perfect fit.

Cups

The bra cups should fit smoothly around your breast tissue so that when worn under clothes they create a flattering silhouette.

♥ If the fabric sags or wrinkles this may be a sign that you need to go down a cup size.

♥ If the fabric digs in creating an unflattering 'double boob' effect you may need to go up a cup size.

Underband

The underband provides support for your breasts and should fit snugly but comfortably around your ribcage.

♥ If the underband is loose or riding up at the back you may need to go down a band size.

♥ If the underband pinches your skin or creates unflattering rolls of fat around your back you may need to go up a band size.

Wires

The wires should encase all of your breast tissue. They should sit comfortably against you rib cage with the bridge lying flat.

♥ If the bridge does not lie flat against the skin you may need to go up a cup size.

If the wires dig into the side of your breast you may need to go up a cup size.

If your breast tissue does not fill the wires you may need to go down a cup size

Straps

The straps should be adjusted so they do not slip off your shoulders of leave you with red marks.

♥ If you need to pull the straps uncomfortably tight to feel supported you may need to go down a band size.

Going up or down a cup or band size...

Please note that if you go up or down a cup size you may need to do the opposite for the band size (or vice versa) in order to get the best possible fit.

Imagine you wear a 32A and the cups are the correct size for you but the underband is loose. The guide says you need to go down a back size, but keep the cup volume the same. That means you need a 30B. Please click here to find out why.

What if I order the wrong size?

If you order the wrong size please don't worry, I offer an exchange and alteration service. Many companies do not offer exchanges on made-to-order garments but I think it is important to have lingerie that fits you perfectly. For full details please see the Fit Guarantee.
